With the dipping temps and icy trees, we all want to hibernate. But you can keep your family moving this winter with active programs and activities in central Arkansas. Our list includes classes for moms-to-be, recurring events just for the kids and fun activities for the whole family.
Aqua Moms at Baptist Health Little Rock -- A fun and positive exercise class is designed just for pregnant women. This class requires pre-registration and a medical release form. Bobby's Bike Hike Historic Neighborhoods Bicycle Tour in Downtown Little Rock -- Discover Little Rock’s rich, colorful history as participants bike through quiet tree-lined streets, city parks, and historic places on this two-hour bicycle tour through the city. Daffodil Days at Garvan Woodland Gardens -- Dance through the gardens and admire more than 250,000 daffodils in various shades of yellow. These happy blooms make their annual appearance at different times each year; call the Gardens office for peak bloom times (mid-February through mid-March). Wild Winter Country -- With help from a snow machine, Wild River Country is now a winter park, complete with a Snowball Alley, Polar Bear Playground, Cub Paw Raceway for the little ones and a fire pit for making s'mores. The main attraction are lanes of snow tubing action on Tubin’ Ruben’s Slippery Slopes. Admission $5.43; a 90-minute snow tubing session $16.29. Park is open Fri.-Sun. each week.
