Wonderkids Yoga Offers Classes for Children with Special Needs
Wonderkids Yoga, a new Little Rock yoga studio that's just for kids, is offering classes for children with special needs.
Miloe Peck, a certified children's yoga teacher and owner of the studio, has experience working as an occupational therapy practitioner for children with disabilities. Peck says that her yoga classes will help children with special needs concentrate and focus, as well as boost self-esteem and social skills. And, of course, children will also gain physical exercise and work on range of motion.
Peck says the classes are appropriate for children ages 6-12 with diagnoses as varied as Autism, Down Syndrome, ADD/ADHD and developmental delays. Classes for children with special needs are held 5:45-6:30 p.m. each Thursday.
Wonderkids Yoga also offers classes for children ages 3-6 2:45-3:30 p.m. Mon. & Tue.; ages 6-9 4-4:45 p.m. Mon. & Tue.; and ages 9-12 5:45-6:30 p.m. Wed.
Classes are held at 808 N. Van Buren in Little Rock. Cost is $12 per class or $40 for 4 classes when you pay in advance. For more info, visit WonderkidsYoga.com.
