Go ahead and plan a family trip to Northwest Arkansas in 2015; a new 44,500 square-foot museum is now being built in Bentonville and the best part is that it's especially for families!

The Amazeum family discovery center and museum is the first of its kind in Northwest Arkansas and will be situated near the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. The land, which is located in front of the art museum's entrance, was donated by the Walton Family Foundation.

According to a press release sent in April, the Amazeum will feature exhibitions like the tinkering studio, a climbable tree canopy and indoor caves. "The Walmart Market will allow kids to be in control of the shopping experience, and the General Mills Lift, Load and Haul exhibit will feature kinetic activity focused on getting things from one place to another. Additional exhibitions, such as an art studio and cabin experience, will help tell the story of the area's Ozark roots,"the statement reads. In addition, approximately one acre of outdoor space will accommodate year-round learning and provide a backdrop for experiments and workshops inspired by the seasons.

The museum is expected to open in the second half of 2015. Keep up with its progress Amazeum.org or on the Facebook page here.
