It's official: Spring is here and central Arkansas is coming back to life with tons of family events, including floral festivals and St. Patrick's Day activities.

Families will find outdoor activities, including the Thin Mint Sprint 5k and Tagalong Trot 1k in Pine Bluff and the Junior League of Little Rock's Downtown Dash 10K/5K. Or, if you're looking for a special outing to the theater, we hear the The Rep's current production of "Les Miserables" is a hit. Over at the Arkansas Arts Center Children's Theatre, this Friday is Pay What You Can Night for a performance of "The Boy Who Cried Wolf."

Here are five more events we think families will love:

1. Conway Symphony Orchestra's Annual Children's Concert at UCA Reynolds Performance Hall -- The CSO presents a unique presentation of the children's favorite, "Peter and the Wolf" written by Sergei Prokofiev. The story of Peter, his grandfather and the animals is told by narrator Matt Patton, with each character in the story played by a particular instrument and a musical theme. After the concert, children are invited to stay for refreshments, crafts and an opportunity to see the instruments. Guests are also invited to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to a local food bank, as the CSO particpates in the Orchestras Feeding America program. $6. 2 p.m. March 15. 2. Family Fun Saturday at Mosaic Templars Cultural Center -- Create works of art using natural and found materials with UAPB art professor Danny Campbell. Mr. Campbell's unique artistry, a collection comprised of tire treads, metal and other scrap parts, is currently on exhibit at the museum. Refreshments will be served, and registration requested. 3. First Birthday Bash at Hillary Rodham Clinton Children's Library & Learning Center -- Celebrate the one year anniversary of the opening of the Children's Library! 4. Seventh Annual Arkansas Puzzle Day at Clinton School of Public Service -- The Clinton School will welcome crossword and Sudoku puzzle enthusiasts for the Seventh Arkansas Puzzle Day. 5. Tiger Cub PAWty at Little Rock Zoo -- Meet the newest additions to the Zoo family: Asmara, Olan, Liem and Eko. Cake will be served at 11 a.m. Read more about the tiger cubs here.
