Due to the winter weather, many of the major events were rescheduled for this weekend, including Toy Hill, the Annual Big Jingle Jubilee Holiday Parade and the Historic Arkansas Museum's Annual Christmas Frolic. Families will also find other holiday treats, like Ballet Arkansas' The Nutcracker production, the opening of The Laman Library's annual model train exhibit, "Because of Winn Dixie the Musical" and much more.

KSSN 96's Toy Hill Toy Drive at Clear Channel Metroplex -- Help provide Christmas presents to needy children in central Arkansas. Bob Robbins and KSSN 96's staff encourage you to bring new, in-package toys to benefit the Marine Corps Reserve's Toys For Tots program. Music-filled events begin Fri., Dec. 13 at 5 p.m. and conclude Sun., Dec. 15 at 5 p.m. Dec. 13 event includes food, a fire truck, ambulance, U.S. Marines, and toys. Parades expected to arrive at Toy Hill beginning at 11 a.m. Free lunch and entertainment for all who come with new toys for Toys for Tots. Dec. 14 event includes food, U.S. Marines, Fraternal Order of Police parade at 12 p.m. and a motorcycle parade at 2:30 p.m. FREE!

Saturday, Dec. 14

46th Annual Christmas Frolic at Historic Arkansas Museum -- From sack races to stilts and from fiddling to frolicking, this favorite seasonal event charms one and all with old fashioned fun. Bring the whole family out and enjoy live music, crafts, carols, pioneer games and our famous hot cider and ginger cake. 1-4 p.m. For info: HistoricArkansas.org

Annual Big Jingle Jubilee Holiday Parade in Downtown Little Rock -- Come see Santa, Mrs. Claus and Rudy the Reindeer in this annual parade in downtown Little Rock.  "The Voice" Season 3 fan- favorite, Cody Belew is this year's grand marshal. Beginning at Second and Broadway Streets, the Holiday parade will start at 3 p.m. and travel south on Broadway, turn west onto Capitol Ave. and end at the State Capitol.  Enjoy festive entries such as marching bands, floats, cars, animals and much more. 2 p.m. For info: HolidaysInLittleRock.com. Christmas Tree Lighting at Little Rock River Market -- This event sponsored by the Hat Club of Little Rock kicks off with a tree lighting ceremony featuring the lighting of a large, professionally-decorated Christmas tree, installed at the entrance to amphitheater park in downtown Little Rock's River Market. The lighting ceremony will also include an appearance by Santa, Christmas music, and free hot chocolate. The tree lighting will continue daily, starting at dusk until 11 p.m., through Dec. 31. FREE!

Dashin' Thru the Lights at Burns Park Softball Complex in North Little Rock -- Run, walk, or stroll through the Hometown Holiday Lights in Burns Park. The display is about one mile each way, and you can complete the course as many times as you like during the event. Wheelchairs and strollers are welcome at any time during the event. Leashed pets welcome after 5:15 p.m. A shuttle will be available to return participants to the parking lot. Registration begins at 4:30 p.m. $5, families $10. For info: NLRPR.org.

Gingerbread House Workshop at the Capital Hotel -- Let the pastry professionals at the Capital Hotel help with your child's Gingerbread House this year. The gingerbread houses, candy and instruction are all provided. Star Gazing at Toltec Mounds Archeological State Park -- This remote archeological park provides a perfect backdrop for viewing the night sky.
