It's the last weekend for the Arkansas State Fair, another weekend of thrills and hauntings at Magic Screams at Magic Springs, the opening weekend of Boo at the Zoo, and the pumpkin patches and corn mazes are still awaiting your family's annual visit.

ACCESS Gardens Fall Plant Sale at ACCESS Stella Boyle Smith Campus -- Spruce up your garden with mums, pansies and other fall favorites. Saturday, Oct. 19

2nd Annual Paws on Pinnacle at Pinnacle Mountain State Park -- This event features informative programs about caring for your dog, getting outside and hiking safely with your dog, agility, and a working dog demonstration. The final event of the day will be a dog "Howl-O-Ween" costume contest. Advanced registration for the costume contest is appreciated. 3rd Annual Taste of "T" Street at Miss Selma's Schools -- Enjoy lots of local, live entertainment, a scavenger hunt, petting zoo, face painting, lots of games, and fabulous food booths. Pooches & Pumpkins at The Good Earth Garden Center -- There will be many fall themed areas for family photo taking, a pet costume contest, free hot dogs, popcorn, beverages, hayrides, balloons, face painting, live music, a fainting goat and much more. Race for the Cure in downtown Little Rock -- Getting around downtown Little Rock won't be easy Saturday morning -- Komen Race for the Cure, starting at 8 a.m., will feature thousands of women covering a 5K route through downtown Little Rock and North Little Rock. Sunday, Oct. 20

Doggie Paddle Swim at Jim Dailey Fitness Center Pool -- Bring your dog for a swim at the War Memorial pool and help the homeless animals at the Little Rock Animal Village, the city’s animal shelter. The Jim Dailey Fitness Center Pool will be open from 2 to 5 p.m. for dog owners to bring their pets to swim. During the event, winners will also be announced for the Friends of the Animal Village’s 2013 Pet Photo Contest. The cost of Doggie Paddle Day, sponsored by the Friends of the Animal Village, is $10 for one animal or $15 for two. Wild Kids Cook! Holidays for Kids at Wildwood Park for the Arts -- Kids ages 8 and up practice making holiday recipes, including Remy's Cheese Straws, Sweet Potato Oven Fries and Death by Chocolate Cookies.
