Friday, Oct. 4

IllumiNight 1K/5K Race at Simon Park in Conway -- Blackbird Academy hosts the first glow-in-the-dark 1K/5K race fundraiser in conjunction with Conway's annual Artsfest celebration. Art vignettes such as musicians, dancers, and glow-in-the-dark displays will be incorporated throughout the race for encouragement and to make this awesome experience one of a kind. Everyone is encouraged to deck themselves out with their craziest neon colors and glowing accessories for a chance to win specials prizes at the end of the night. 5K participants must raise at least $25 in pledges, 1K participants must raise at least $15 in pledges. 7:30 p.m. Click here for info.

5K Run for 2 at Pitza 42 in Conway -- Pitza 42 hosts this race to benefit hungry children around the world. For each participant who runs in the 5K, a child will be fed for an entire month. Late registration is $15 and does not include a T-Shirt, but the registration fee goes to feed one child for two months. 10 a.m. For info: Pitza42.com.

2013 Walk Know for Autism Speaks at Clinton Presidential Center -- Walk Now for Autism Speaks is a fun, family friendly event and is a powerful force to fund research. Ceremonies begin at 10 o'clock with walk to follow. Plus, a new 5K walk/run will be added to this year's festivities, and is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. Fundraising is encouraged, but not required to participate. 8-10 a.m. For info: WalkNowForAutismSpeaks.org. Angel One 5K at Two Rivers Park -- The Angel One 5K is a fun running event organized by the Angel One crew to help families of children transported to Arkansas Children's Hospital. Many children are transported long distances to ACH for the special care they need. The hospital does its best to fly a parent with their child, but the cost of getting home can be a huge financial burden to some. Money raised will assist families in need with the cost of returning home after discharge. The 5K is for anyone, no matter your level of fitness. The Fighting Red 5K: A Race To End Blood Cancer at Big Dam Bridge Cook's Landing -- This race's mission is to educate, swab and run for Blood Cancer Awareness. Walkers are also welcome, and those who do not wish to run can still participate and donate. Release a balloon for cancer survivors and in memoriam of those who were lost. The Lifesaver Award will be given to the top age groups. Male and Female, first three finishers in the following age groups: 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
