Love the great outdoors?

Have a chance to really explore and take in nature late this spring at Lake Ouachita State Park.

The park is now taking reservations for their new Hike/Camp/Kayak Adventure, slated for May 4-5. The fun program is designed for those interested in hiking and kayaking Lake Ouachita.

During the adventure, participants will hike portions of the Little Blakely Trail, enjoy a sunset barge cruise and  evening programs by the park interpreters, learn a thing or two about outdoor skills such as backpacking, camping, Dutch oven-cooking and more, and paddle close to five hours on Sunday at a comfortable pace.

Food-wise, participants will have a Dutch oven dinner and breakfast prepared by park interpreters.

The cost is $60 per person. Participants can bring their own kayak and camping gear or rent what they need from the park. Kayak rentals are available for $20 and camping gear for $15.

Space is limited. To register for this event, or for more information, contact Susan Adkins at Lake Ouachita State Park at (501) 767-9366.
