JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes
On a rainy day in September, dedicated teams showed up to Murray Park to walk a 5K in support of JDRF and the organization’s mission to find a cure for type 1 diabetes. In fact, Little Rock Family Publisher Jeff Hankins, the Corporate Chair for the walk, and his family were among those trekking across the Big Dam Bridge.
The Miracle League
Play ball! Local families got into the swing of things on a recent Saturday full of baseball fun at The Miracle League field. The field’s special turf is designed with special needs in mind, allowing kids across a range of disabilities to bat, run, walk or roll the bases, and cross the home plate.
Walk Now for Autism Speaks
The chilly October air didn’t stop families and friends from having a blast at Arkansas’ 2012 Walk Now for Autism Speaks, held at the Clinton Presidential Center. In addition to raising awareness and offering support for those with autism spectrum disorder, attendees also enjoyed making crafts, eating treats and more.
