Conway is now the home of professional basketball. The American Basketball Association created a team specifically for the City of Colleges.

The new Conway Cyclones play at Hendrix College’s Wellness & Athletic Center. The team has partnered with the Faulkner County Boys & Girls Club and a portion of the ticket sales – $7 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under – is given to the club. Owner Brandon Kimbrough plans for the players to serve as mentors to the kids, in addition to coat drives and other community-centered activities.

The ABA has unique rules, meant to promote “fun” and a less physical, more entertaining game. There are four twelve-minute quarters, a 24-second shot clock, and all successful field goals from the backcourt are worth four points each, instead of the NBA’s typical three point score.

This season, the Cyclones will recognize local student athletes who perform well during games and excel in the classroom by giving them a certificate, a t-shirt, an ABA miniball, a photo, and the athlete's name will be posted on the Cyclones’ website. You can submit student athlete information online, and find a full schedule at ConwayCyclones.com.
