Tales from the South radio show, in conjunction with William F. Laman Public Library and downtown Argenta's Plant it Pink Festival, is looking for three to four true stories from breast cancer survivors in the South.

Writers must live in Arkansas, Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama or be from those states. Stories must be true, told in first person, and be between 500-1,200 words. E-mail submission deadline is 10 p.m. March 1.

The topic for the show will be based around a quote from Keri Russell: "Sometimes it’s the smallest decisions that can change your life forever."

Stories will be judged by a panel of writers, professors and editors. Submission guidelines and more information on the show can be found online.

Writers selected for inclusion will read their stories on the internationally syndicated radio show March 29 at Argenta Community Theatre in the Argenta Arts District of North Little Rock. Lodging will be provided for writers who live outside central Arkansas.

Tales from the South Radio Show -- true stories told by the Southerners who lived them -- is recorded in front of a live audience at Starving Artist Cafe, 411 Main St. in the Argenta Arts District (downtown North Little Rock) at 7 p.m. Tuesdays. It airs locally on KUAR FM 89.1 at 7 p.m, Thursdays and is syndicated by World Radio Network, a satellite radio distribution service, available to more than 130 million listeners worldwide.
