Project: ELI Offers Hope, Comfort for Families
Prince-Miles Randolph and several other children with spina bifida are featured in the Project: ELI (Every Life Inspires) video produced by Little Rock Family Community Editor Julie Mayberry, whose second child, Katie has spina bifida. The project was inspired by and is named for Eli McGinley, whose parents allowed his birth to be taped for the video. Although Eli only lived for a few days, his parents Jesse and Jodi were determined his legacy should be a project that would provide hope and comfort to families who receive a spina bifida diagnosis.
"I wanted to meet children with spina bifida and talk with the parents," writes Julie in her note to families. "These parents know the emotions you're dealing with right now ... ranging from guilt, anger, fear and confusion to joy and happiness. We've been there. Let us provide you with the comfort in knowing you can handle this."
