Black History Month Living Museum
As Black History month comes to a close, Lawson Elementary students and teachers offer community families a fun way to celebrate and learn. Student historians will share the stories and accomplishments of black scientists, engineers, inventors and mathematicians through a Living Museum exhibit.
Each participant is responsible for researching a subject, writing a one to two minute speech and then performing their speech in character at the event. Patrons will be able stroll the museum and push the button at student ‘statues' to learn more about their subjects. Students will then give their speech and return to a statuelike position when they are done.
