From April to September each year, people flock to Dickey-Stephens Park for Arkansas Travelers minor league baseball games and river and skyline views.

School's back, but it's still summertime and we're making the most of the weekend!

Friday-Saturday

"Alice at Wonderland" at Bearden Productions Center for the Arts: What would happen if a 21st century Alice collided with Lewis Carroll’s legendary Wonderland? This modern retelling of the classic children’s story has all of the characters you know and love, but Alice is distinctly contemporary, complete with cell phone in hand. Arkansas Travelers Play at Dickey-Stephens Park: Take us out to the ballgame! The Travs are playing at home for the last time this season this weekend! Friday's game starts at 7:10 p.m. and is followed by Pyro in the Park - the biggest post-game fireworks show of the season! On Saturday the first pitch is at 6:10 p.m. Sunday's game is at 2:10 p.m. and is a Praise FM Family Game which means that the whole family gets into the stadium for $10 with a church bulletin! Canoe Float at Pinnacle Mountain State Park: There's no better way to spend the day than out on the water! Paddle your way through Pinnacle’s majestic lowland river while viewing large cypress trees and a variety of wildlife. Advance payment and registration required; $40 per canoe. Wiggle Worms: What's in a Drop of Blood? at the Museum of Discovery: Wiggle Worms introduces children 6 and younger to science in a fun, hands-on and interactive environment! The program goes from 10-10:30 a.m. and is included in regular museum admission: $10 for adults and $8 for kids 12 and under. Click here for more information.

Storytime Live at Kiddie Academy: Curious George and Pinkalicious will jump off the page and visit the classroom at this free storytime! Take photos with your favorite characters and listen to a story read aloud from 10 a.m.-noon. Visit the Facebook event page for more details. FREE!

Baptist Prep Fall Carnival at The Baptist Preparatory School: Open to the whole community, this fetival goes from 3-6 p.m. and features rides, games, raffles and more. Admission starts at $5 and more information is available on the event Facebook page.

Summertime Cruise on Lake Maumelle: Want to go out on the water but don't want to do the paddling? A park interpreter will guide your cruise on the park’s pontoon boat to view the beautiful landscapes, historic structures, and the lake’s wildlife. Advance payment and registration are required: $15 for adults and $8 for kids ages 6-12. Cruises take off at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Click here for details.

Young Artist Class at Reinvented Vintage: Kids ages 5 and up can join Kristin McCaslin at Reinvented Vintage from 4-5:15 p.m. Participants will each create their own whimsical artwork; class is $35 with all materials provided. Head to the website to register.
