8 Events for Weekend Family Fun
Three theater productions, two festivals and a princess ball are just some of the events that this weekend has in store!

International Fest at Gibbs Magnet School: Students, their families and friends are invited to come out and participate in crafts and activities from cultures all around the world. Each classroom will host a booth with a craft or activity that reflects the class nation's culture. Enjoy performances by local dance companies and individuals who would like to share their talents and try food from around the world. "To Kill a Mockingbird" at Argenta Community Theater: Whether your kids are reading this book in school or you just want to introduce them to a classic, this play is sure to do the trick. The story gets new life on stage thanks to a group of local performers. Prepare to be transported back to 1930s Alabama. Showtime is 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $30 apiece. “Stone Soup” at the Arkansas Arts Center Children's Theatre: One day, a lovable wanderer came upon a little house at the end of a long road. A little woman peeked out and smiled. Then she opened her door. Delighted, the traveler stepped inside to discover a treasure even more precious than a pot of delicious soup: he found a friend. Earnest charm, playful imagination, and heart-warming music are the key ingredients in this fresh, nourishing new play. "The Lion King" on Broadway at the Robinson Center: Hakuna matata, the show is finally here! Watch the Pride Lands come to life right here in Little Rock as Simba, Mufasa and all your favorites take the stage. CALS Lit Fest Children's Activities at Hillary Rodham Clinton Children's Library: It's time to follow the Yellow Brick Road to reading with lots of free activities promoting literacy at this year's CALS Lit Fest! Walk for the Waiting at War Memorial Stadium: For the sixth year in a row The CALL, Immerse Arkansas and Project Zero are joining forces to support waiting foster children and the families that care for them. Show your support for these organizations by registering and becoming a sponsored walker today. Not everyone is called to foster or adopt, but everyone can walk, raise funds or donate! Child Safety Seat Event at McCain Mall: North Little Rock Police will have certified safety technicians on hand to check existing and new child seats for free. If you have precious cargo, such as kids in your vehicle, make sure they are in the appropriate seats for their safety. Fancyful Princess Ball at the Junior League Building: Guests of all ages are invited to this magical event where 10 princesses will be in attendance: The Island Princess, Rapunzel, The Little Mermaid, Beauty, The Snow Queen, The Ice Princess, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Frog Princess and Snow White. Activities at the ball include group games, a photo booth, a make-your-own-crown station and more.
