8 Events for Weekend Family Fun
Spring break is coming to a close, so squeeze in all the fun activities that you can!
Friday
Egg Painting Party at The Painted Pig Studio: This event is open to kids of all ages! Each child will get to paint 4 small Easter Eggs. Painting can be messy. Please have children wear clothes that are okay to get dirty. Tickets are $22 and the fun starts at 10 a.m. Click here for more information.
Spring Break at Historic Arkansas Museum: The people who lived on our block came from all different places. Learn why they came to Arkansas. Help pack for the gold rush and try your luck at panning for “gold.” The program goes from 10 a.m.-noon. Click here for more information. Admission is $2.50 for adults, $1 for children and free for museum members.
Dining Etiquette Lesson for Teens at The Butcher Shop Steakhouse: This lesson for ages 14-17 is at the perfect time to prepare them for prom! Students will learn not only dining etiquette, but dating etiquette and toasting etiquette as well. The lesson and dinner goes from 5-7 p.m. The cost is $49.50 per teen and more information is available here.
Saturday
Celebrate Spring! at Garvan Woodland Gardens: Celebrate the grand re-opening of the Garden of the Pine Wind at 9 a.m. From 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m., children's activity booths will be set up throughout the gardens with activities such as face painting, rock decorating, origami and wand making. At 11 a.m., the beer garden opens at Garvan Pavillion along with food trucks and the Chipmunk Café. Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for ages 4-12. Visit the website for more details.
Easter Bunny Photos at the Promenade at Chenal: Take Easter Bunny photos in the courtyard at the Promenade for free! The first 100 kids will receive a green piggy bank from Region’s Bank. Make sure to bring your camera. The fun goes fron noon-4 p.m. Click here for details. FREE!
Hearts & Hooves Open House: Visit this therapeutic riding center and get all your questions about hippotherapy answered. Take a walk around the facility, enjoy refreshments and say hello to the horses. The event is free, but RSVPs are requested so that they can prepare appropriately. "Junie B. Jones is Not A Crook" at the Arkansas Arts Center Children's Theatre: Junie B. Jones learns all about finders keepers, losers weepers in this comedic play based on the children's books by Barbara Park. Shows take the stage Friday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for AAC members and $12.50 for non-members. Visit the website for more details.
Photos With the Easter Bunny at Park Plaza Mall: Visit with the Easter Bunny from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Visits with the Bunny are always free, and photo packages are available for purchase. Find full info available here. FREE!
