5 New Little Rock Restaurants to Visit for Date Night
The Little Rock food scene is booming — and if you haven't been keeping up with the latest new restaurant openings, it's time to catch up.
With a little help from our sister publication, Little Rock Soirée, we've compiled a list of five restaurants that have opened in the last year or two for you and your significant other to visit on your next date night.
So call the babysitter and put on a dress, it's time for a night out!
1. Petit & Keet Bar and Grill
This modern space opened in May in the old 1620 Savoy building. With cool features like a garage door that opens to outdoor seating, this restaurant's menu is full of unique items such as hot chicken, Panko-crusted avocado and barbecue shrimp and rice grits. Enjoy an evening under the string lights on the patio or stay in the air conditioning and admire the bold and modern decor. Petit & Keet is located at 1620 Market St. and business hours are 5-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 5-11 p.m. Friday-Saturday. Learn more on the Petit & Keet website.
2. Buenos Aires Grill and Cafe
If you want to do some salsa dancing at dinner, Buenos Aires Grill and Cafe is the place to go. The family-owned, authentic Argentinian restaurant offers "a flavorful blend of Spanish and Italian cuisine, that takes advantage of the abundant agricultural products available in the country." The salsa club/restaurant opened in March in the former Juanita's location in the River Market at 614 President Clinton Ave. Check their Facebook page for more info.
3. Soul Fish Cafe
Perfect for a more casual date night (or date lunch), Soul Fish Cafe is the place to go for a plate full of classic, southern comfort food. Their menu features tempting dishes such as blackened salmon, mac ‘n’ cheese, sweet potato fries and caramel pecan pie. Soul Fish is a chain restaurant based out of Memphis, and this Little Rock location was their first outside of Tennessee. The downtown hotspot opened in late summer 2016 and is located at 306 Main St. Check out their website for more information.
4. Prospect Sports Bar & Grill
You booked the babysitter, got ready for dinner and then you discover that an all-important game is going to be on that night. Don't cancel everything just yet — Prospect Sports Bar & Grill is here to save the day. The upscale bar and eatery, which opened in September 2016, boasts a menu of classic burgers and sandwiches along with a selection of fancier entrees such as beef tenderloin and ribs. Located at 5501 Kavanaugh Blvd., the space includes pool tables if you want to get a little competitive after dinner. Visit the website for more details and a full menu.
5. Del Frisco's Grille
It may be a stretch to call this Chenal restaurant "new," but after opening in September 2015, they've continued to impress with fantastic dishes and an incredible wine selection (there's an entire wall full of wine). The menu provides seemingly endless options — such as Ahi tuna tacos, Philly cheesesteak eggrolls, short rib stroganoff, coconut cream pie and so much more. Del Frisco's is located at 17707 Chenal Parkway, adjacent to the Promenade at Chenal. Check out their website for more information.
