North Little Rock Bands Earn Excellent Ratings

Three North Little Rock school bands received superior ratings in a recent performance assessment. The bands were: the North Little Rock Middle School eighth grade band, under the direction of Beth Madar; the North Little Rock High School ninth grade band, under the direction of Michelle Smith; and the Symphonic Band, under the direction of Brandon Wilson.
All three competed at the Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association Region I Concert Assessment and received first division superior ratings from all judges for their stage performances.
The NLRMS eighth grade band received a second division excellent rating for their performance in sight reading, and the NLRHS ninth grade and Symphonic Bands received first division superior ratings for their performances in sight reading.
“All performances were incredible!” the North Little Rock School District posted on its Facebook page. “We are fortunate to have dedicated and passionate music educators and students at NLRSD ... We will always strive for what is best for our students, and continue to push and strive for a program that has been a hallmark of North Little Rock for generations past and generations to come.”
