Getting outside to enjoy spring is a highlight of Easter celebrations. Petit Jean hosts a handful of activities during the Great Escape Weekend to help families enjoy the weather and celebrate the holiday from April 14-16.

Events span most of the day on April 15 and 16, and the whole thing kicks off at 2 p.m. on April 14. The weekend is free and families can attend as many events as they like. Activities include Cedar Falls Overlook strolls, an Owl Prowl, cave hikes a Campfire Get-together and more.

The final event and highlight of the weekend is the Easter egg scramble that boasts around 2,000 eggs for hunting! There are three age categories: preschool-kindergarten, 1st – 3rd grade and 4th – 6th grade. The hunt begins at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the public swimming pool parking lot.
