‘Hidden Figures’ Author to Speak at Student Session at Clinton Center
The Clinton Foundation and Clinton School of Public Service are hosting "Hidden Figures" author Margot Lee Shetterly on Thursday for a free student program.
The "Hidden Figures" movie was released in December 2016 and tells the story of three brilliant African-American women at NASA who served as the brains behind the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit. The visionary trio crossed all gender and race lines to inspire generations to dream big.
Shetterly is also the founder of The Human Computer Project, an endeavor that is recovering the names and accomplishments of all the women who worked as computers, mathematicians, scientists and engineers at the NACA and NASA from the 1930s through the 1980s.
The program will take place Thursday, March 23. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the session begins at noon at the Clinton Presidential Center Great Hall. It is free to attend but online registration is required.
