ASO ‘Informance’ Offers Music Education for Free
It's not always easy to get facetime with professional musicians. Kids can get a taste of music education when the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra's Quapaw Quartet offers an "informance" at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at the Capital Hotel.
The free event is a casual public performance featuring short pieces and educational commentary from the musicians. The program is titled "History of the String Quartet" and features pieces written by some of the greatest composers ever, including Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Debussy and Novacek.
Charlotte Crosmer and Eric Hayward play violin. Ryan Mooney plays viola and David Gerstein plays cello. For more information, call the symphony at (501) 666-1761 or visit their website.
And, don't forget that kids can get in FREE to the ASO's Sunday performances! For more information about the program (including how to get those free tickets), check out this story.
