YES for Arkansas Business Expo at Park Plaza Mall: Twenty-five team finalists, made up of students in grades 5-8, compete in the finals of the 2017 YES for Arkansas Business Expo. Each team has a booth to showcase their business and ideas and sell their products. Judges are on hand to select winners in various categories. "Herman Maril: The Strong Forms of Our Experience" at the Arkansas Arts Center: This art exhibit features 90 works by the great mid-Atlantic Modernist. Maril is best known for his oil paintings, but works on paper were also a major part of his production throughout his career. Ink and wash drawings, gouaches, watercolors and prints are all be featured alongside selected oil paintings. The exhibition surveys Maril’s career from the 1920s to the 1980s. Knapp Trail Tram Tour at Toltec Mounds Archeological State Park: Let a park interpreter guide you around this prehistoric site. Winter Discovery Lake Cruise at Pinnacle Mountain State Park: Come prepared to discover Lake Maumelle as it springs to life, in the middle of winter! Pinnacle Mountain State Park and its surrounding water bodies host thousands of animals that have migrated south for the winter. A park interpreter will guide the way to search for critters of all kinds that spend the winter around the lake, hopefully even a few bald eagles. Dress in layers for cold and windy lake weather. Little Rock Soup Sunday: Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families will host its 40th annual Soup Sunday. The event raises money for the organization, which advocates for the youngest citizens of the state. Craig O'Neill is emcee of the event, which features music, activities for kids, a live and silent auction and soups, breads and desserts from more than 40 restaurants. Eagle Lake Cruises at Jolly Rogers Marina: Join Pinnacle Mountain State Park interpreters for a cruise on Lake Maumelle to seek wintering bald eagles. 38th Annual Eagles Et Cetera at Degray Lake Resort State Park: Eagles Et Cetera offers a free guided look at one of America's most treasured national symbols, the American bald eagle.
