Event Teaches Kids and Parents Healthy Cooking Skills
Although it's bound to happen, most parents would rather not feed their kids packaged snacks that are no doubt unhealthy.
Right after school is a popular snack time, so the Maumelle Library hosts an afterschool event to help get kids in the kitchen. This way, parents can be more confident about the snacks their kids are eating.
At 3:30 p.m. every Wednesday, families are invited to learn how to make healthy food. Good eating habits and safety are stressed at the events. Plus, it's completely free to participate.
Kids in the Kitchen is put on by members of the Pulaski County Arkansas Cooperative Extension Office. For more information, call (501) 851-2551 or visit the library's website.
