Even if families aren't looking to bring home a new pet, kids can enjoy story time at the Humane Society of Pulaski County and bring family pet along.

Geography and rhyme are the central themes of "The Kitten from Great Britain," a book that follows a globetrotting cat and her travels.

Story time takes place on Thursday, Dec. 22 from 1-2 p.m. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and proceeds will be donated to the humane society. A book signing follows the reading.

Families also have the opportunity to visit with adoptable animals (if you're in the market). But that's not all! Santa is also making a stop to indulge in some milk and cookies with everyone.
