Turkey Time: Event, Craft & Recipe to Get You in the Thanksgiving Spirit
Thanksgiving is coming up fast and almost nothing is more representative of the holiday than our favorite holiday bird (and meal): turkey.
Whether it’s on the dinner table, in crafts, in your leftover sandwiches or even in the wild there is lots of fun to be had with this goofy creature.
Here are some ways the whole family can get in the holiday spirit.
Event
On Saturday, Nov. 26 from 1-2 p.m., the Central Arkansas Nature Center will host a “myth buster” session all about turkeys! The free event will teach you about the animals’ habitats, diets, how they live day-to-day and their history in Arkansas.
The Nature Center is located at 602 President Clinton Ave. in Little Rock. For more info about the event check out the Facebook page.
Craft
Here's a twist on the classic Thanksgiving turkey craft: make it with footprints! From baby feet to dad's big feet you can have a whole family of turkeys hanging on the fridge this Thanksgiving. Get the simple directions right here on the Crafty Morning blog.
Recipe
It's inevitable that there will be Thanksgiving dinner leftovers. But what do you do with them? We found a creative idea that is easy to make, kid-friendly and delicious: turkey and cranberry quesadillas. Yum! Here's the recipe from the Little Dairy on the Prairie blog.
