Dad's Day at The Wonder Palace: Dads share the learning and fun experiences of The Wonder Place with their kids on a special day. First Saturday's National Parks Centennial Iron Ranger Challenge in Downtown Hot Springs: Ranger-guided hikes on Hot Springs and North Mountains are held at 10 a.m. the first Saturday of each month. Each moderately strenuous hike is approximately 3 miles, round trip, and includes a spectacular view of Gulpha Gorge from Goat Rock. No pre-registration is necessary. JCA 2016 Walk for Community at the Rivermarket Pavilions: With music, dance, food, and a one-mile walk, the Walk for CommUNITY is an event the whole family can enjoy. Wheelchairs, strollers and pets on leashes are welcome. Last year's Walk was attended by over 1,000 people, raising over $54,000. Registration for individual adults is $25 ($30 day of event), $10 for students and $50 for families (up to 5 household members). First Saturdays at the Maurice with Cutwell 4 Kids at Maurice Boathouse in Hot Springs: Cutwell 4 Kids hosts a chance for children to express themselves artistically with a new program hosted the first Saturday of each month. Veterans Day Toy Helicopter Workshop at Home Depot in NLR: Join a hands-on workshop in honor of Veterans Day, and you and your child can build a toy helicopter with turning blades! Salute Gala at the Governor's Mansion: ARVets, a statewide non-profit organization that provides innovative programs to improve the lives of veterans and their families, is celebrating five years of service with a benefit. A VIP reception begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by a formal dinner and program at 7 p.m. Jerry and Judy Jones are the event chairs and THV 11's Craig O'Neill will be the master of ceremonies.
