Verizon is calling out to middle and high school students to show their stuff in a no-coding-necessary contest for creating problem-solving apps.
Winning students will get prizes and a chance at real app glory, but the deadline for entry is Nov. 18. The fifth annual Verizon Innovative App Challenge will shower winning student teams from each state with $5,000 prizes for their schools or organizations and free electronic tablets for all team members. Then the best-in-state teams will compete for the ultimate prizes, an additional $15,000 for organizations and a chance to turn app ideas into working smartphone applications.
Winners will be announced in January and February. For more information on entering, visit Verizon.com/AppChallenge.
