5 Events for Weekend Fun: Halloween Celebrations, 5K and More!
It’s finally feeling like fall, and with it comes all the spooky fun October has to offer. Take the kids to Magic Screams at Magic Springs Water & Theme Park to kick off their month of Halloween celebrations. Or, head out to the Third Annual Family Fun Day at Ron Coleman Mining to treasure hunt with the whole family.
Magic Screams at Magic Springs Water & Theme Park: Magic Springs puts on "Magic Screams," a ghoulish Halloween event with something for the entire family. The park is complete with five haunted houses, a kid's zone for the younger kids, several contests and four movie screenings for all to enjoy! Events include: kids costume contest, The Great Mummy Wrap, King and Queen of Screams. Oct. 8, "Ghostbusters" screening; Oct. 15, pet costume contest, "Beetlejuice" screening; Oct. 22, Adult Costume Contest, "Little Shop of Horrors" screening; Oct. 29, adult costume contest; Oct. 30, "Hocus Pocus" movie screening. Cabot Lions Club Pancake Breakfast at Cabot First Baptist Church: The Cabot Lions Club serves up pancakes, scrambled eggs and your choice of bacon or sausage! ComPACT Family Services Run for the Family 5K at Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs: Lace up your shoes and take on the Garden trails to help raise awareness and support for healthy families. Tikes, Trikes and Trails at Entergy Park in Hot Springs: Strollers, big wheels, tricycles, bicycles with or without training wheels, (no motorized vehicles please), are welcome to ride the trails. Ages 8 and under: Riders are supervised on the 1/4 mile paved, accessible trail. Age 9 and up. Riders learn basic mountain biking skills from an experienced mountain bike rider. Youth riders are supervised on the natural trail and will complete at least one loop of the .75 mile Water Tower Loop Trail. Safety helmets are required and bike safety inspections are available.
