Robinson Center to Welcome Disney's ‘The Lion King' to the Stage
Now this is a show the whole family will enjoy! On Monday, Celebrity Attractions CEO Ed Payton made the exciting announcement that the Robinson Center will host Disney's "The Lion King" during the 2017-2018 season.
The kids will love to see this classic Disney movie come to life on stage!
Payton said that Celebrity Attractions couldn't always bring Broadway shows to the Robinson because of restrictions on the old theatre — but not anymore. With the $70 million renovation and restoration, the Robinson Center is ready to host the biggest names on Broadway.
Disney's "The Lion King" is one of the most popular stage musicals in the world. Since its Broadway premiere on November 13, 1997, 23 global productions have been seen by more than 85 million people.
From the costumes to the music, this performance is one that has captivated audiences for 19 years. This show is a great opportunity to introduce children to the theatre. Disney does recommend that children be at least six years old to attend the show.
The Arkansas engagement of Disney’s "The Lion King" is presented by arrangement with Celebrity Attractions and is a subscription offering of Celebrity Attractions’ 2017-2018 Broadway Season. Celebrity Attractions’ 2016-2017 Season at Robinson Performance Hall features "Elf The Musical," Rodgers & Hammerstein’s "Cinderella," "The Phantom of the Opera," and "Riverdance-The 20th Anniversary World Tour." Season tickets for the 2016-2017 are now on sale and are priced from $114-$345.
