Deedle Deedle Dees In Concert Saturday at Clinton Presidential Center

Families in Little Rock will get a rare treat when the Brooklyn-based quirky quartet The Deedle Deedle Dees swings through town on Saturday, Feb. 26 to play a 10:30 a.m. show at the Clinton Presidential Center.
I first learned of the Dees in 2007 from kid's music critic Bill Childs, host of the weekly radio show Spare the Rock, Spoil the Child. Back then, the Dees had just released Freedom in a Box, which Childs called "an instant contender for album of the year. Your kids will learn a lot while thinking they're just having fun."
The Dees have a sound that ranges from foot-stompin' bluegrass to 80s British punk (Yes, I'm aware that's a wide range, but that's what makes them so fun). Their new album is American History + Rock & Roll = Deedle Deedle Dees.
At the Saturday show, The Dees will debut a song written in conjunction with children from The Cathedral School about President Bill Clinton. Really, how often do you get to be part of a world music premiere? Bring the whole family.
Tickets are free with the price of admission to the Presidential Center, which is free for children under 6, $3 for children 6-17, $7 for adults, $5 seniors, college students and retired military. For info: (501) 374-4242.
We're giving away four copies of The Dees new album. Leave a comment below about your favorite children's music. We'll select four winners by 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25.
