5 Places to Fetch Unique Dog Treats in Metro Little Rock
It’s summertime and you’re likely treating your family to a slew of summer treats. But what about the four-legged family members? We sniffed out five places in metro Little Rock that offer treats to spoil your pooch. Some of the furry inhabitants at the Little Rock Family offices tested out the treats so that owners can see what they’re getting into.
1. Just Dogs! Gourmet
Thrall enjoys a hotdog-shaped baked treat from Just Dogs! Gourmet located in The Promenade at Chenal. Don’t worry; he shared with his work neighbor Mojo (who had another treat of her own). The basic peanut butter cookie is decorated with peanut butter and yogurt icing. This shop participates in Chef Shuttle, a service that allows them to deliver treats straight to your door. 17711 Chenal Pkwy., LR. For info: JustDogsAR.com.
2. Bow Wow & Meow
Mojo prepares to sink her teeth into a pink Razorback, made from melted yogurt wafers, from Bow Wow & Meow on Maumelle Boulevard. The store also produces baked treats like bacon and cheese twists, their most popular item according to shop owner April Mayfield. April’s mother Gloria decorates all of the baked goods, the designs of which are so detailed that she often uses a toothpick to style them. 11607 Maumelle Blvd., NLR. For info, search for Bow Wow & Meow on Facebook.
3. Starbucks
Charlie laps up a Puppuccino from Starbucks on Broadway. The small cup is filled with heavy cream and a dash of vanilla. Next time the pup is in tow at the drive-thru, customers can order a free Puppuccino so the pets aren’t left out. (Our colleague Kristen Heldenbrand says that her dog Ruby gets excited every time she sees the Starbucks logo.) 917 South Broadway, LR. Store info and directions linked here at Starbucks.com.
4. ICM Biscuits
Winnie is led astray during a potty break to sample an ICM Biscuits treat. This variety is a peanut butter, banana and honey flavor. Biscuits carries a smattering of all-natural treats for dogs, all of which are made in the on-site bakery. ICM, the parent company of Biscuits, is a nonprofit organization that helps individuals with developmental disabilities throughout Arkansas. 1525 Merrill Drive, LR. For info: ICM-inc.org.
5. The Dog Bowl
Brutus gnaws on a duck foot from The Dog Bowl in the Pleasant Ridge Town Center. The duck feet at The Dog Bowl are dried and roasted with no added ingredients. The shop’s owner Mike Catanach says that the feet contain glucosamine and chondroitin, which are nutrients sought for their role in joint health. 11525 Cantrell Road, LR. For info: TheDogBowl.biz.
