Meet Little Rock Family's 2016 Cutest Family Pet Contest Winners!
Congratulations to Tod, the winner of our 2016 Cutest Family Pet Contest!
We received so many adorable entries of central Arkansas' furry (and feathered) friends! After the Little Rock Family staff narrowed down the entries to the top 25 finalists, we asked readers to vote on their favorites.
Tod, a photobombing Siberian Husky, received the most votes and came in at #1! But he wasn't the only pup to bring in the votes. Here are the top 10 finalists in our 2016 Cutest Family Pet Contest. Congrats to everyone who made it to the top 10—and don't forget to pick up the July issue of Little Rock Family to see all 10 of their photos in print!
First Place
Tod, Siberian Husky
Submitted by Lacy Flurry

"This is Tod. He is a 6 1/2-yearold Siberian Husky, but we might as well call him a cat. Tod does not fetch, play with toys, or bark; but he does love to nap, be petted, eat any and every bit of food he can get to, and most of all make friends with all humans. Our family becomes famous with him around because of his stunning features—and it's a bonus that he loves to give kisses to EVERYONE. He is the older brother to another Siberian Husky named Gus, and Tod loves blaming Gus for all the digging he does in the backyard. Tod is the CENTER of our family. He is with us 24/7 and is the most gentle dog you will ever meet. Tod and Gus have their own Instagram account "TaleOfTwoHuskies" and we love sharing their story with the social media world. Tod did the all-time greatest photobomb in this picture! Every time I look at it, it reminds me that dogs are the greatest gift and friendship you can have in life."
Second Place
Charlie, Bichon Frise
Submitted by Maggie Adams

"We adopted Charlie in early 2014. He was a malnourished stray that was found by the Little Rock Animal Village and Helping Hands for Little Paws. I knew that he had a beautiful little heart and that after some much needed TLC he would be the cutest little guy ever. After about 6 months, his old self was gone and he had gained all his weight back! My husband and I decided to have some fall photos taken, and of course brought along Charlie. Dale Benfield captured this shot that I now refer to as his "glamour photo" and proudly display for all to see. It's a reminder that with some much needed love and care both humans and pets can blossom from the inside out!"
Third Place
Cooper, Toy Poodle
Submitted by Krista Carlisle

"Cooper is a 2-year-old Toy Poodle. He loves running outside, getting his belly rubbed, and treats. He brings a smile to everyone he meets."
Fourth Place
Pippa, Mini Australian Shepherd
Submitted by Bailey Fleming

"Pippa is 1 year old and has the sweetest personality! She loves belly rubs, giving kisses, and as many treats as you'll give her. She also likes to show off her tricks like giving high fives and fetching and swimming."
Fifth Place
Gracie, Bassador
Submitted by Lucy Whiteside

"We adopted Gracie in 2014 after someone abandoned her in Hillcrest. We absolutely adore her and her sweet Bassador cowlick. She comes to work with me every day in downtown Little Rock, and she is now the most popular member of our entire office. We like to call her our "local celebrity" because we often use her as a model for our public relations clients. She’s also one of the laziest dogs we’ve ever met—except when she’s ready to go on a long walk on one of Little Rock's river trails. In the picture, she's returning from one of her favorite activities—seeing all of her doggy "friends" at the Hillcrest Farmers Market."
Sixth Place
Snickers, Shih-poo
Submitted by Dede Hazlip

"This is Snickers! He is 7 years old. He thinks he weighs 85 pounds and is the baddest dog on the block."
Seventh Place
Molly and Lilah, Shetland Sheepdogs
Submitted by Jason Henry

"This is Molly and Lilah. They are Shetland Sheepdogs and they are best friends. I adopted Lilah from Sheltie Zen rescue in 2008 when Molly was just 4 years old as a companion for Molly. They have been inseparable best friends ever since. As Molly has aged, she has gone deaf and Lilah now acts as her ears. They love everyone and live to please."
Eighth Place
Callie, Labrador Retriever
Submitted by Glenna Bates

"My babies: Brody and Callie, both 3 years old. Callie was rescued from the shelter in February after we lost our 9-year-old lab, Tracy, to lung cancer. Callie has been a great addition to our family and enjoys bringing out the playful side in our other lab mix, Sandy."
Ninth Place
Dixie, Boston Terrier
Submitted by Shannon Armand

"This is our girl Dixie. She is the sweetest and most lovable little girl. She's used to getting lots of attention and is very vocal when she wants something. She also likes to be talked to and always tilts her head when she's listening to you. She loves to play and give lots of puppy kisses. We just adore her!"
10th Place
Chickens
