One Year Anniversary at Mid-America Science Museum in Hot Springs: Celebrate MAM's one year anniversary since reopening after last year’s major renovation. During the month of March visitors will find extra activities, fun and food trucks! Visit hands-on Education Stations throughout the museum to learn about topics like geography, animation and more. Watch two new shows in the Oaklawn Foundation Digital Dome Theater: “Intergalactic, a Space Odyssey,” a custom show created by the museum’s education department that takes guests on a tour of the galaxy; “Flying Monsters,” narrated by David Attenborough and produced by National Geographic, highlights the prehistoric world of the Pterosaur. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. March 19. $10 plus tax for adults; $8 plus tax for children ages 3-12. SEC Gymnastics Championship at Verizon Arena: The eight SEC schools that sponsor gymnastics (Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU and Missouri) will participate in the 2016 SEC Championship. Kite-Flying Competition at Pinnacle Mountain State Park: Start Spring Break off the right way, by participating in a fun and friendly kite-flying contest. Prizes will be awarded to those with the highest flying kites. Please remember to supply your own kite for this competition. 1-3 p.m. March 20. Easter Egg Hunt at Excell Park in Jacksonville: Bring your basket to Jacksonville’s largest Easter egg hunt! Children who are walking through age 10 participate in this holiday tradition in a fun and safe environment. All participants must arrive at Excell Park by 10 a.m. The Easter bunny will make a special appearance, too! The egg hunts include 2,000 eggs per group! The schedule is: walking to age 3 (field 2) at 10:15; ages 4-5 (field 3) at 10:30 a.m., ages 6 & 7 (field 2) at 10:45 a.m., and ages 8-10 (field 3) at 11 a.m. In case of rain, all ages meet at the Jacksonville Community Center at 10 a.m. 10 a.m. March 19.
