5 Events for Weekend Fun: Garvan's Holiday Lights, Dazzle Daze and Turkey-lympics
Looking for something merry and bright this weekend? Head to Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs, as they flip the switch on more than 4 million brilliant bulbs! You can also get a start on your holiday shopping at Dazzle Daze in Conway and the Holiday Craft Sale in Jacksonville.
Holiday Lights at Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs: See more than 4 million brilliant bulbs transform approximately 17 acres into a memorable animated holiday display. As you amble through the winter wonderland, your family can sip complimentary hot chocolate. Stop by the Anthony Chapel on opening night to hear the Village Big Band perform a free concert (6:30 p.m. Nov. 21). Open 5-9 p.m. daily Nov. 21-Dec. 31. Dazzle Daze at Conway Expo Center: Shop 'til you drop at this shopping extravaganza. Merchants from around the country offer gourmet food, holiday items, jewelry, children's items, women's clothing and accessories, art, men's items, home decor and more. In addition to shopping, attendees can visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus and register for prizes. And don't forget about the Pajama Party with Santa! 38th Annual Holiday Craft & Gift Sale at Jacksonville Community Center: Purchase original works of art and unique gifts from Arkansas artists and vendors from surrounding areas. Handmade creations include woodwork, paintings, jewelry, holiday decor and more. Concessions available. Bring a new, unopened, unwrapped toy for free admission, as part of the first annual toy drive. 2-8 p.m. Nov. 20 & 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 21. $2, children ages 12-18 are $1. Turkey-lympics at Mosaic Templars Cultural Center: Enjoy fall-themed activities and games, including “Pin the Tail on the Turkey,” “Holiday History” and “Touchdown Turkey.” Visitors have the chance to compete for prizes at every game, and Turkey-lympics champions can show off their medals in the Winners Circle.
