It's a big weekend for family fun in Little Rock and across the state! Downtown Little Rock will turn pink for the annual Race for the Cure on Saturday morning, the Arkansas State Fair rolls into town with its fried foods and livestock shows, and Magic Screams begins offering frights and thrills for Halloween lovers!

76th Annual Arkansas State Fair at the Arkansas State Fairgrounds: Visitors can explore the Agricultural Education Center, gawk at animals from the livestock show, meet zebras, goats, llamas and camels in the petting zoo, watch shows like the Arctic Olympics High Dive Show and Wall of Death Cycle Show, and cheer during the Show Me Swine Racers. The Midway includes all of your favorite fair foods and more than 50 rides for kids and adults! Concerts for the opening weekend include Montgomery Gentry (8 p.m. Oct. 9), Eddie Money (8 p.m. Oct. 10) and Silk (7 p.m. Oct. 11). Plus, the free Fair Parade sponsored by the Arkansas Livestock Show and Association will take place in downtown Little Rock at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11. Gates open 11 a.m. daily, Oct. 9-18. "Apollo: To the Moon" and Super Sunday Free Family Funday at Arkansas Arts Center: Originally produced by Smithsonian’s Discovery Theatre, “Apollo: To the Moon” is a history-packed celebration of the American Space Program. In the play, young astronaut-hopeful Scott Gibson learns that it will take math, science, physical stamina and mental perseverance to achieve his dream. If you attend the Sunday matinee, you can participate in free art activities in the art galleries. The crafts will explore the chemistry of color to celebrate National Chemistry Week, which is coming up Oct. 18-24. Show performances are 7 p.m. Oct. 9, 2 & 7 p.m. Oct. 10, and 2 p.m. Oct. 11. Homestead Festival at Parker Homestead in Harrisburg: Experience how Arkansans once lived by visiting genuine log buildings, a general store, grist mill and more. You can also observe sorghum being cooked in a pan over a wood fire, watch broom making and blacksmithing demonstrations, enjoy music and more. Festival hours: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 10, noon-5 p.m. Oct. 11. Price: $7, kids under 6 free. 7th Annual Conway EcoFest at Laurel Park: Visitors of all ages can browse the marketplace of eco-friendly vendors, watch the Cardboard Car Derby, see a butterfly release, participate in interactive activities and hear live music throughout the day. New for the 2015 festival will be the Innovation Alley, which will focus on science and technology and how it can impact environmental issues. Magic Screams at Magic Springs Water and Theme Park in Hot Springs: Visit this spooky festival and enjoy family events, including rides for kids and a haunted house for younger children. Scarier monsters and events emerge from the shadows at dusk. Several park rides are open, including SkyShark and X-Coaster. 4-11 p.m. Sat. and 4-9 p.m. Sun. Oct. 10-Nov. 1. Price: $29.99.
