Share the love with your family at one of these heart-filled activities in Little Rock and central Arkansas! Though the big day won't come around until Feb. 14, you'll find lots of Valentine's Day events happening throughout the month, including these 13 events:
A Charlie Brown Valentine's Day at Clinton Presidential Center: Visit the center for a free family program that will include creating valentines for patients at Arkansas Children's Hospital, along with making crafts for your own personal valentines. Family programming is free; however, regular admission fees to tour the Library will apply. Arkansas Symphony Orchestra Presents Dancing and Romancing at Connor Performing Arts Center: Broadway and Hollywood combine for a romantic and entertaining evening of song and dance with two veterans of the Broadway stage: Joan Hess and Kirby Ward. Inspired by the likes of Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Gene Kelly and Eleanor Powell, this evening will put a song in your heart and have you dancing in the aisles! $19-$58; kids free to Sunday matinee with paid adult admission via Entergy Kids Ticket. Hikes, Hearts & Hugs Weekend at Petit Jean State Park: In the deep of winter, share a scenic trail or a warm fire at Mather Lodge with a loved one. During Valentine’s Day weekend, the park will provide guided trail hikes for couples, programs to discover some romantic tales set on Petit Jean Mountain and an evening buffet at Mather Lodge. Kids Workshop: Heart Box at All Home Depot Locations: Create a heart box at this workshop geared for kids ages 5-12. Participants will take home their craft and receive a free certificate of achievement, workshop apron, and a commemorative pin. Children must be present at the store at the time of entry to the workshop. Limited space, and participants are admitted on a first come, first served basis. Magic Lantern Valentine's Day Program at Old State House Museum: Travel back in time with the boisterous fun of America’s only Victorian magic-lantern show. An authentic 1890s visual extravaganza projected on a full-sized screen--the kind of show that led to the movies! Valentine stories, animated comedy, and songs are all dramatized on screen by a live showman and singer/pianist. Sweetheart Hayride and Campfire at Pinnacle Mountain State Park: Take your sweetheart on a romantic hayride through fields and woods followed by a cozy campfire. Blankets and snuggling recommended.
