It's only Thursday, but it's time to get the weekend started! The Harlem Globetrotters will show off their skills at Verizon Arena tonight, Feb. 5! Plus, "The Princess Bride" shows on the big screen.

There are plenty of events to carry you through the weekend too: Celebrate Take Your Child to the Library Day; help your little one reel in a fish at MacArthur Park Pond; or, craft valentines at the Clinton Presidential Center. Read on for details on all of our top 10 weekend events for families!

1. Harlem Globetrotters "Washington Generals Revenge Tour" at Verizon Arena: Enjoy ball-handling wizardry, rim-rattling dunks, trick shots, hilarious comedy and unequaled fan interaction as the Harlem Globetrotters take on the Washington Generals! As part of the festivities, a Harlem Globetrotters Hometown Hero will be honored and a portion of the game will be played with a camouflage basketball as a sign of respect to all who protect our freedom. With a star-studded roster featuring Big Easy Lofton, Ant Atkinson, Hi-Lite Bruton, Thunder Law, Bull Bullard, Firefly Fisher and Moose Weekes, plus female stars TNT Maddox, T-Time Brawner and Sweet J Ekworomadu, the Globetrotters is a one-of-a-kind show. 2. 4th Annual Take Your Child to the Library Day at All CALS Locations: All branches of the Central Arkansas Library System join with libraries across the U.S. and Canada and celebrate with special programs! Families can sign up for the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program, as well. All day Feb. 7. For info: CALS.org. FREE!

3. Central Arkansas Nature Center's Fishing Derby at MacArthur Park Pond: Bring your fishing pole and bait, and fish with your friends and family at this derby hosted by the Central Arkansas Nature Center! 5. A Charlie Brown Valentine's Day at Clinton Presidential Center: Visit the center for a free family program that will include creating valentines for patients at Arkansas Children's Hospital, along with making crafts for your own personal valentines. Family programming is free; however, regular admission fees to tour the Library will apply. Don't miss the Charlie Brown-themed exhibits, "Pigskin in Peanuts" & "Heartbreak in Peanuts," during your visit! 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Feb. 7 & 14. For info: ClintonPresidentialCenter.org.

6. Pinocchio Event at Hillary Rodham Clinton Children’s Library & Learning Center: Friends from Arkansas Children’s Theatre read Pinocchio! Stay for craft time, too. 10 a.m. Feb. 7. For info: (501) 978-3870, CALS.org. FREE!

7. Destination: Girl Scouts at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville: It’s time to expand your horizons and the Girl Scouts are here to jump start the journey! Girls in grades 4-12 are invited to cook their own exotic cuisine, play musical instruments from all over the world and pick up a few helpful phrases for their next foreign adventure. 8. Sweetheart Hayride and Campfire at Pinnacle Mountain State Park: Take your sweetheart on a romantic hayride through fields and woods followed by a cozy campfire. 9. 34rd Annual Soup Sunday at Statehouse Convention Center: Taste some of the best soups, breads and desserts in town, generously donated by as many as 30 restaurants in the Little Rock area. This family-friendly event will feature a silent auction, games for children, and live music from The Big John Miller Band. Proceeds from the event support Arkansas Advocates for Children & Families. $25 in advance; $30 after 2/6; VIP tickets $50 each; children 5-12 are $5; under 5 are free. 4-7 p.m. Feb. 8. 10. Rumpelstiltskin at the Arkansas Arts Center Children's Theatre: It's your last weekend to watch "Rumpelstiltskin" onstage at the Children's Theatre! The Brothers Grimm fairy tale is adapted into a musical by Keith Smith, and is a thriller for young audiences. $12.50, $10 for AAC members. Showtimes are: 7 p.m. Feb. 6, 2 p.m. Feb. 7-8.
