Turkey Time: 6 Thanksgiving Activities for Families
We’re thankful for so many Thanksgiving activities in central Arkansas! Mark your calendars for at least one of these seasonal events, including the annual Go!bbler Turkey Trot, a Turkey Day getaway and more.
Go!bbler Turkey Trot at Go! Running: Before you feast on Thanksgiving lunch or dinner, tie up the laces on your running shoes and hit the pavement. A fun course through Hillcrest and the Heights covers road, track, trails and includes other surprises along the way. Santa will be on hand to help gather canned food donations for the Arkansas Foodbank. Talkin’ Turkey at Central Arkansas Nature Center: Learn about the Thanksgiving turkey’s wild cousin, the eastern wild turkey, and join in on some turkey talk as the group breaks out the calls and see who’s got their gobble on. 11 a.m. Nov. 22. Thanksgiving Getaway at Degray Lake Resort State Park: Gather the family and get away to DeGray Lake Resort State Park for Thanksgiving this year! Stay and relax in the comforts of the lodge or set up camp out in the park. Enjoy fine cooked meals at the Shoreline Restaurant every day and be sure to stop in Thanksgiving day to indulge in the full spread buffet feast. Thanksgiving on the Lake at Mountain Harbor Resort: Enjoy the holiday on Lake Ouachita with your family; reserve seats for the lavish Thanksgiving Holiday Buffet, which includes a dessert buffet. The lodge is decorated for Thanksgiving until the morning of Nov. 28 when it's transformed into a Christmas wonderland for a special lighting ceremony that evening. Nov. 25-29.
