JULY 3

CELEBRATE YOUR INDEPENDENCE at the Clinton Center's annual July 4th Festival. This year's event is from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, July 3 on the library grounds. Both children and adults will enjoy a fun-filled day of entertainment, including storytellers, magicians, inflatable games and live music. Library admission is also free both Saturday and Sunday. 33rd Annual Fourth Fest, Maumelle - Festivities begin with a parade down Club Manor Drive at 4 p.m. Festival fun at Lake Willastein will follow, including carnival rides, food and entertainment. For info: 851-6990. FREE!

Sherwood's 11th Annual 4th of July Family Celebration, Sherwood Forest - This event is from 6-9 p.m. and will include free hot dogs and chips, a patriotic tribute, entertainment and children's activities. Fireworks display at 9 p.m. Free shuttle service from Sylvan Hills High School parking lot. For info: 835-6893. FREE!

Annual Picnic & Fireworks Show, Ward - Visit the new sports complex in Ward for this fun-filled family event. The parade starts at 11 a.m., followed by vendors opening, a tractor pull and free food. There will also be a horseshoe tournament and live music from the band "Legacy." Fireworks begin at dark. For info: 843-7686. FREE!

JULY 4

Fun on the Fourth, Pinnacle Mountain State Park - From 10 a.m.-1 p.m. celebrate and cool off as park interpreters host wet and wild games for the whole family. There will be watermelon seed-spitting contests, water balloon volleyball and relay races. For info: 868-5806. FREE!

Pops on the River, Riverfest Amphitheater - Families, bring your lawn chairs and blankets and come enjoy the state's largest Fourth of July celebration, Pops on the River. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra will perform at 8:30 p.m., followed by the fireworks at approximately 9:30 p.m. Cash and non-perishable food donations will be accepted for the Arkansas Foodbank Network. No fireworks, coolers or pets are allowed in the park. For info: 378-3807. FREE!
