Planning a road trip to Branson during the holiday season? The city will have plenty of Christmas attractions, including Silver Dollar City's annual holiday festival, An Old Time Christmas. Plus, Dixie Stampede transforms its dinner theater into a holiday celebration.

Christmas at Silver Dollar City is already well-underway, with 1,000 decorated Christmas trees lighting up the theme park, as well as a 5-story special effects Christmas tree delighting visitors with its 350,000 LED lights. The Gifts of Christmas Holiday Light Parade glides through the brightly-lit Main Street area twice each evening.

Families can watch several classic holiday shows, including "It's a Wonderful Life" and "A Dickens' Christmas Carol," and experience the Christmas story during a 45-minute Living Nativity production. Or, step into the Silver Dollar Saloon to see a hilarious holiday wild west comedy.

Especially for kids, there's a 20-minute interactive musical, in which the audience helps bring Frosty the Snowman to life. Or, make reservations at Lunch with Santa, where kids can have their photos made with Santa Claus and sing carols with Christmas elves ($19.99, children ages 4-11 $15.99). The rest of the day (2:30-5:30 p.m. & 6:30-9:30 p.m.), families can visit with Santa in his workshop at Kringles Krossing.

An Old Time Christmas at Silver Dollar City continues until Dec. 30. For more information, click here.

Nearby at Dixie Stampede, another Christmas spectacular will entertain families. The dinner attraction will transform into a holiday wonderland, complete with a full-scale Nativity with live camels, donkeys and sheep, fresh-fallen snow, the music of The Nutcracker and a visit from Santa Claus.

The entertainment features a showdown between the North and South Poles, as well as a visit from the Sugar Plum Fairy, who brings all of the toys in a toyshop to life. As usual, the production will include equestrian feats, lots of audience participation and a four-course feast.

Christmas at Dixie Stampede continues through Dec. 28. For more information, click here.
