Magic Springs Theme Park Now Open
Get your summer started early.
One of the state's only amusement parks, Magic Springs Theme Park, is set to open at 11 a .m. Saturday (April 13) with loads of thrill rides, family favorites and attractions for the little ones.
The theme park features thrill rides like the X-Coaster and Gauntlet, in addition to family-friendly favorites like the Diamond Mine Coaster and the Old No. 2 Logging Company Log Flume, as well as plenty of fun rides for the tykes in your life.
Magic Springs announced earlier in the spring its highly anticipated concert series for the 2013 season and the addition of a multimillion-dollar water park attraction to open on Memorial Day Weekend. The first concert of the season is Collective Soul on May 25. Other notable acts include Little Big Town, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Everclear.
The water park portion of the park will open May 11 with a debut of its newest attraction Splash Island slated for May 25. It will be more than four stories tall and feature 10 water slides, a bucket that dumps 1,000 gallons of water every 10 minutes and plenty of ways to have fun. It also features bubbler jets, water wheels, tipping buckets, water curtains, net climbs, pools and waterfalls. There will also be a new lounge deck surrounding the attraction.
A Magic Springs Season Pass, now priced at $69.99 through April 14, allows for unlimited visits to the park and up to 18 free shows at the concert series. After April 14, the Season Pass will increase to $74.99. Fans may opt for a general admission ticket to individual concerts, with free lawn seating on a first-come, first-served basis at Timberwood Amphitheater. Reserved seating may be purchased for $10 or $5.
