CALS Reading Program Offers Chance to Win Scholarships
They always say to start early when it comes to hunting for college scholarships. This summer, with the help of the Central Arkansas Library System and Arkansas 529 College Investing Plan, students as young as elementary school can get a head start!
The Read to Succeed Library Scavenger Hunt challenges students to read books on financial literacy throughout the summer for a chance to win a scholarship.
The program runs May 15-July 15 and elementary, middle school and high school students are eligible. To enter, students must visit one or more CALS locations and read four CALS-approved financial education books.
The student will receive a stamp on a “529 Buck” for each book he or she checks out during the program. Once he or she has read all four books, drop off the stamped 529 Buck at one of the participating libraries to enter a drawing for one of four $529 scholarships.
