Celebrate the New Year at Mid-America Science Museum
If there's no way your kiddos are staying up until midnight on New Year's Eve, then you need to add this "noon year" celebration to your calendar.
Countdown to the "Noon Year" at Mid-America Science Museum on Saturday, Dec. 31 from 9 a.m.-noon. Museum educators will help guests make light-up party hats, noisemakers and more in the Alliance Rubber Company Tinkering Studio before the official countdown.
Then, watch as the world’s most powerful conical Tesla coil light’s up at exactly noon. There will be music, sparkling cider and other refreshments.
“Most of our visitors won’t be staying up until midnight to celebrate the New Year so our Noon Year’s celebration gives them a fun, educational and safe environment to participate,” said Doug Herbert, director of education at Mid-America Science Museum.
