Maya Angelou's typewriter, a slave insurance document, paintings by African-American artists—art and history collide in the newest exhibit on display at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center. "American Treasures from the Kinsey Collection" has traveled to 18 cities across the country, and will make its Arkansas debut on April 8 in downtown Little Rock.

The collection includes authentic and rare art, original artifacts, books, documents and more—all of which help tell a more complete story of the black experience in America. From Elizabeth Catlett's artwork to Malcom X's letters, the Kinsey Collection demonstrates achievements made by African Americans from 1595 to modern day.

Plus, when you bring a Sunday circular ad or your church program, you'll receive a 20 percent discount on all items in the museum store, except Kinsey and Black Lives Matter merchandise.
