Boo at the Zoo at Little Rock Zoo: Arkansas's largest Halloween festival is back and filled will with lots of howl-oween fun! Boo At The Zoo is appropriate for families with children of all ages, and features a safe environment for trick-or-treating along with other spooktacular amenities and attractions. Don your costumes and stroll through the colorful lights and Halloween themed decorations. Trick-or-treaters enjoy nightly dance contests, costume contests, free carousel rides, glitter tattoos, live music, and a dance party! Hayride and Haunted Musical Ride at Big Rock Mini Golf & Fun Park: The daytime educational hayride transitions into a slightly spooky (but mostly funny) musical adventure at night! At each stop, a creepy character—voodoo goblins, diva princesses and more—sing karaoke. Kids can expect to get involved with tambourines and other audience participation. Through Nov. 3. Horror Trail and The Wilds of Wild River Country: The grounds of Wild River Country come alive with hordes of horrifying mutants, monsters and maniacs. You will explore three terrifying haunted mazes, as you make your way through multiple scare zones where creatures lurk around every turn. Magic Screams at Magic Springs Water and Theme Park in Hot Springs: Visit this spooky festival and enjoy family events, including rides for kids, a haunted house, trick-or-treat trail and costume contests for younger children. Scarier monsters and events emerge from the shadows at dusk. Several park rides are open, including SkyShark and X-Coaster. Hours through Nov. 1: 4-11 p.m. Sat.; 4-9 p.m. Sun. $29.99. Peanuts Halloween at Bass Pro Shops: This free, family event features the classic Peanuts characters, as well as traditional Halloween fun, including a costume parade, crafts and trick-or-treating. Kids can pose for a free 4x6 photo with life-size cutouts of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus, Sally and Lucy (noon-5:30 p.m. Oct. 24-25; 6-8 p.m. Oct. 26-28, Oct. 30). Tales of the Crypt at Mount Holly Cemetery: Drama students from Parkview Arts & Science Magnet High School are each given a person buried in the cemetery to research and prepare short monologues or dialogues about their lives—while wearing period costumes, of course!—in front of the graves. Celebrate Fall at Garvan Woodland Gardens: At this brand-new event, children ages 12 and under can trick-or-treat in the gardens (costumes encouraged!), climb on the spooky "James the Train," and grab a small pumpkin from the pumpkin patch (free; available to the first 200 children who visit). There will also be a special Treasure Map that encourages youngsters to hunt for "Garvan Rocks" hidden in the gardens.
