Young artists and home bakers young and young at heart are invited to compete in the 30th Annual Gingerbread Extravaganza. Submissions to the Holiday Coloring Contest and Gingerbread House Decorating Competition will be exhibited and judged Sunday, Dec. 10 at the Arkansas State Capitol.

In addition to the holiday coloring and gingerbread house decorating contests, the Extravaganza also includes Photos with Santa and a Celebrity Tour of Homes.

Children and adults are invited to participate in the Gingerbread House Decorating Competition. Gingerbread house kits are available for immediate pick-up from the Treatment Homes office at 700 W. 4th St. in Little Rock. They are priced at $15/small, $20/medium and $30/large. The decorated houses may be entered in the Gingerbread House Decorating Competition by Dec. 6 and delivered to the Arkansas State Capitol by 9 a.m. on Dec. 10, the day of the Gingerbread Extravaganza. They will be displayed and juried in the afternoon. The winners in each category, Grades K-3, Grades 4-6, Grades 7-12, and Adults and Teams, will receive prizes.
